The world as we know it has in a large part of men reacting to their circumstances and forming lives in response to a need, a need to sustain themselves, to support their families, or to make something of themselves in accordance to a societal narrative. In my version of a Utopia, I know that one aspect is present, and that is of seeking the limits of one’s potential, and an endless pursuit of self-improvement. I don’t know whether that is a means to an end or not. Why?

At an individual level, central to life is the question of meaning. What is the point of my existence? What am I contributing, what is the meaning of my time here? At the end, it boils down to a deliberate use of one’s time, to complete a tapestry, that he and only he dictates, and only he sees. Conscious and intentional - that is, in response to one surroundings, feelings, thoughts, emotions and with intent. Not just flowing across the river, but sitting on the edge of the boat, paddle in hand, while figuring out where you are on the map.

As such, a Utopia would give a man the ability to seek this destiny of his. “Seek” and not deliver. What does that even mean in the real world?

The conscious and intentional part of it makes sense to me. Awakening the spirit within one, making them grapple with this question, that one day, all of this is going to go away, and what do you feel about it? What do you want to do? The world is the way it is - what do you want to do about it? What do you want to achieve?

No avoidance, and an awareness of who they are and what they are trying to do.
